One day, Kuroki is visited by a group of travelers who tell him that they have been sent by the king to find a blacksmith who can help them forge a new sword. The villagers are kind and welcoming, and Kuroki decides to stay and make a new life for himself.

Kuroki is forced to wander the land in search of a new home, and eventually comes across a small village in the middle of a forest. The game begins with Kuroki Toge, a young blacksmith who has been exiled from his home village for his involvement in a political conspiracy.
